Projected Incident Activity

The fire has impacted the Warm Lake Road resulting in a hard closure and is expected to continue to impact the Warm Lake Road to the northeast and southwest. The fire will continue to spread along the Curtis Creek drainage toward Warm Lake Summit, and flanking easterly into the Middle Fork of the Payette River drainage. Moving east toward Cougar Rock, Railroad Pass, toward the private structures and cultural/resource values, northwest in the Big Creek drainage toward commercial timberlands, private structures, and other cultural/resource values. Backing south and west toward the state and private timber lands due to unseasonably high ERC's, low RH, and high temperatures. Active fire behavior at night is expected due to a thermal belt and downslope winds.

Remarks

This incident is being prioritized with four other incidents (Wolf Creek, Boulder, Dollar, Goat).

Current Weather
Weather Concerns

Today, isolated showers and thunderstorms moved across the fire and produced light rain (less than 0.10" in most locations), gusty outflow winds to 40 mph, and lightning. Temperatures were cooler with highs in the mid 60s to around 70. Humidities were higher today, bottoming out at 33-38%. Winds away from thunderstorms were out of the west to southwest this afternoon with gusts to 25 mph.

Thunderstorm chances will decrease on Wednesday, but numerous showers and thunderstorms will make a return on Thursday. This will come with a 30-40% chance of wetting rains, meaning areas under the cores of showers and thunderstorms may see significant rainfall while other areas will see little. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms will linger into Friday with dry, warmer, and breezy conditions over the weekend.
