The Adams Fire is in the Lower Sycamore area off State Route 87 on the Mesa Ranger District in the Tonto National Forest.

The Adams Fire started Sunday, June 2 at 5:20 p.m. Initial attack included multiple engines, air attack, 1 helicopter and 2 super scoopers.
The Type 3 Central West Zone Team assumed command of the incident Tuesday, June 4.
Objectives for this incident include:
- Ensure firefighter, aviation and public safety,
- Protect communities, major transportation corridors, the Sonoran Desert (an ecosystem not adapted to fire), archaeological and cultural resources, waterways and riparian area and wildlife resources,
- Work closely with partners, private property owners and cooperators and,
- Provide for initial attack in the designated areas.
