The Hull Fire was located approximately 12 miles east of the Town of Tusayan, Ariz., just northeast of the Grand View Lookout (in the Kaibab National Forest) and east of Grandview Point (in the Grand Canyon National Park). This lightning-caused wildfire was managed to fulfill it's role in the ecosystem: burning naturally to reduce fuel loads and promote healthy landscapes.
All tactical firing operations for the planning area were completed on 6/24. The fire is in monitor status - crews will to patrolled and monitor.
Smoke and occasional flames will continue to be visible as larger forest floor fuels, such as large dead-and-downed trees and stumps, continue to smolder and burn.
