The Clear Fire was discovered on June 21, 2022 and is located 10 miles northwest of the City of Anderson, along the Teklanika River.

Fuels Involved

The fire area is primarily composed of open and closed canopy black spruce, mixed hardwood with conifers, pure hardwood, and tundra stands. Various fire scars surround the fire area including the Minto Flats (2009) to the north, Bear Creek (2012) to the south, Kobe Ag (2015), and Kobe (2019). Indices have been tracking above normal for the year however, a pattern of moisture and cooler temps has occurred over the past several days.
