Update (12/1/23 3:30pm) - Ignitions have ceased for today. 1,000 piles were accomplished today. Burning will continue over the weekend. Smoke could be visible east of Tabernash.

Pile burning operations continue today (11/3/2023) near the Fair Subdivision, east of Tabernash along Water Board Rd (FSR 128). Smoke may be visible. Yesterday firefighters accomplished 500 piles and 7 acres.

Update (11/3/23; 3 p.m.): Pile burning ignitions near the Fair subdivision east of Tabernash have ended for the weekend. Firefighters completed 1,000 piles today for a total of 1,500 piles. The pile burning project will resume in the same area on Monday.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (Dec. 30, 2022) – Firefighters plan to burn slash piles from multiple fuels reduction and hazardous tree removal projects on the Canyon Lakes Ranger District starting next week, as early as Tuesday, January 3, 2023, as conditions allow. Burning of these piles could take place throughout the upcoming snowy, winter months.
