Texas A&M Forest Service has responded to an active fire on the Taylor and Nolan county line approximately 3 miles South of Trent. The Valley fire started at the top of the mesa and has burned downhill into the valley below, with high winds and relative humidity in the single digits, the fire has been actively burning to produce a smoke column that could be seen for miles around. Texas A&M Forest Service is working in unified command with locals utilizing heavy equipment, engines, and air resources.

Expect winds to become northeast at 10 to 15 mph, with higher gusts, by mid-morning, then decrease below 10 mph early this evening. Relative humidity values will drop to nearly 35 percent by 10 AM, around 28 percent by noon, then reach a minimum of around 20 percent by 4 PM. Relative humidity values will then steadily increase, reaching around 30 percent by 8 PM. Dry conditions are expected through this evening, with isolated to scattered showers possible Friday morning into Friday afternoon.
