Were you impacted by the Oregon wildfires that began on September 7, 2020?

Did you know that if you live in Clackamas, Douglas, Lincoln, Linn, Jackson, Klamath, Lane or Marion county, you can apply for individual assistance from FEMA?

Here's how:

Step 1: Take pictures of your damaged home and belongings.
Step 2: Make a list of damaged or lost items.
Step 3: If you have insurance, you must file a claim with your insurance company. If you don’t have insurance skip to step 4.
Step 4: There are three ways to apply for assistance: Online at DisasterAssistance.gov, through the FEMA app on your smartphone or call 800-621-3362 / TTY 800-242-7585. Translators are available.

You will need to have (1) proof of identity, (2) insurance determination letter and (3) proof of occupancy or ownership.
FEMA cannot cover losses that are covered by insurance.

You will receive notification letters from FEMA either by U.S. mail or by electronic correspondence. You may need to verify your identity or complete a home inspection.
If you are concerned about your legal status, you can still apply if a member of your family is a US citizen or a lawful permanent resident.

FEMA aid can help you with housing, rental assistance, home repair, home replacement, medical/dental assistance, child care, and transportation. FEMA decisions can be appealed if you were denied or did not receive the correct type or amount of assistance.
