**WEST MOUNTAIN COMPLEX: Boulder, Snag, and Dollar Fires Update 08-13-2024**

A Red Flag Warning is in effect for today. This warning was issued for thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds. Predicted storms have the potential to bring erratic gusts accompanied with rapid wind shifts.

The Goat Fire saw more fire activity and has potential for further growth. The western edge of the fire ran into a previous burned area (East Fire) which is serving as a natural barrier to fire growth. The terrain is steep and hazardous, so the fire will continue to be monitored by air and ground. Firefighters are utilizing natural barriers and plan to construct control line from the south end of the Snag Fire down to the west side of the Goat Fire to prevent the Goat Fire from moving west.
