Ignitions at Grandview burn unit were completed around 11:00 today. A change in the forecasted weather and abundant moisture in the piles made it difficult for firefighters to meet objectives. They stopped ignitions at 100 piles to accomplish 10 acres of treatment. Currently, there is no plan to burn piles at Grandview in the next couple of weeks. Firefighters will attempt later in the winter if conditions allow. Visible smoke may be present in the area throughout today, becoming lighter in the next couple of days.
