A burnout operation on the Rail Ridge Fire is observed from a helicopter on 10/6/2024. This burnout was conducted to help establish contingency lines on the western edge of the Rail Ridge Fire in the Black Canyon wilderness.

A burnout operation on the Rail Ridge Fire is observed from a helicopter on 10/6/2024. This burnout was conducted to help establish contingency lines on the western edge of the Rail Ridge Fire in the Black Canyon wilderness. 

Most of the smoke is coming from the fire burning with in the Black Canyon Wilderness. Fire personnel continue to work in the area to increase containment. Firefighters are using tactical burning along preplanned containment lines as needed.
