Firefighters continue their work of removing fuels and mopping up wherever possible. Building containment lines above Cougar Ridge on the northwest area of the fire is a priority for crews today. Photo by Public Information Officer Ira Hardy 10/15/2024.

This evening the winds pushed the active fire area on the northwest corner of the fire back to the south/southwest direction, towards the main fire. A very large smoke column was visible just as the sun went down.
