Weather Concerns | Light westerly winds will gradually shift to the southwest this afternoon. Winds will increase in the 15 to 20 mph range this afternoon out of the southwest. Relative humidity (RH) values will be on the dry side around 9 percent. Winds this evening will shift more out of the south and for the most part looks to hold steady in that 15 to 20 mph range. However, looking at higher resolution guidance these stronger 15 to 20 mph winds may be isolated north of the burn site on the north side of the Canadian River Valley, giving these higher winds more of a ridge top gradient. Thus, will not rule out winds calming down in around 10 mph overnight. Overall the RH recovery is poor tonight, and it will likely stay in the 20-30 percent range, but if those lighter winds can prevail, maybe 30 to 40 percent is on the table. By early morning, around 6 to 8 AM, there looks to be a weak front moving through and the winds will turn more westerly and pick up around 15 to 20 mph, and should be northwesterly by 9 AM with the front through. Initial surge of winds look to be 15 to 20 mph out of the north through about 1PM and then should gradually weaken through the afternoon, and may fall below 10 mph transitioning out of the northwest by early evening. |
