The Dixon Fire, formerly the Tiller Trail Fire, was first reported on Saturday, August 10th at approximately 2:40pm. Local resources responded quickly and located a wind-driven, rapidly growing fire burning on lands within Douglas Forest Protective Association (DFPA), U.S. Forest Service (USFS), Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and the Tiller Rural Fire Protection District. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Department of the Oregon State Fire Marshal (OSFM)and Oregon Department of Forestry Incident Management Team 2 (ODF IMT 2)entered Unified Command at 6 AM on 8/12/2024. The Emergency Conflagration Act was invoked by Oregon Governor Tina Kotek at 1200 hours on 08/11/2024 for management of the Dixon Fire by OSFM. OSFM has Delegations of Authority with both Tiller RFD and Douglas County. OSFM estimated cost: $300,606 ODF estimated cost: $1,600,000 |
