The Vanity Fire started Sept. 3 by lightning moving through the area. It is burning approximately 37 miles west of Challis, Idaho. A type 4 team is managing the incident.

Continue to maintain and improve point protection systems. Construct handline between the Baldwin Cabin Road and the Seafoam Road (FS Rd #010).

Staying dry through the first half of Sunday with highs in the 70s to near 80 degrees, but our next system begins to move in and lifts a round of isolated showers and storms northward this evening. Storms will be capable of producing brief downpours and gusty winds of 40 to 50 mph. Expect more showers and storms Monday through Tuesday as a system tracks through the area bringing
beneficial rainfall and much cooler temperatures in the 50s by Tuesday.
