The Spruce Creek Fire was started by lightning on May 14, 2024. It is burning on the Dolores Ranger District of the San Juan National Forest, 11 miles northeast of Dolores, Colorado. Fire activity is now minimal, and limited to isolated pockets of interior ground fuels.
A San Juan National Forest Incident Management Team has been working to achieve objectives including lowering the long-term risk of fire impact on the landscape.
