BLM Arizona Strip District crews managing Gunsight Fire

The BLM Arizona Strip District’s fire crews are suppressing a fire located, 16 miles south of Kanab, Utah on lands managed by the BLM Arizona Strip District. The lightning-caused fire, visible from Kanab, was reported at 9 p.m. on June 26. Resources on the fire as of June 28 include 2 Type 4 engines, 3 Type 6 engines, 1 water tender.
Fire managers are asking for the public’s assistance by avoiding the area to allow crews and resources to access and mitigate the fire.
