The Wapiti Campground, recently closed as a precaution during the Clearwater Fire, will reopen on Wednesday, August 14 at 8:00 a.m. The campground is located on the North Fork of the Shoshone River, next to the historic Wapiti Ranger Station. Elk Fork Campground is closed indefinitely. Wapiti Campground and Clearwater Campground are closed until fire conditions allow otherwise. These closures provide public safety and increased access for fire resources.
