EMERGENCY FIRE AREA CLOSURE

Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. § 551 and 36 CFR § 261.50(a) and (b), the following acts are prohibited upon roads, trails, and general forest areas within the Umpqua National Forest and Willamette National Forest as described below and shown in Exhibit A. This Order will be effective beginning September 9, 2021, and ending April 6, 2022, unless rescinded sooner.

PROHIBITIONS:

1. Being on the road. [36 CFR § 261.54(e)]

2. Going into or being upon an area closed for the protection of public health or safety. [36 CFR § 261.52(e)]

3. Being on a trail. [36 CFR § 261.55(a)]

CLOSURE AREA:

Southern Closure Boundary: Starting at the intersection of Forest Service Road (FSR) 3230 and FSR 32 in T32S, R02W, Section 6, following FSR 32 Southeast to FSR 3232, following FSR 3232 Southwest to FSR 3232-910, following FSR 3232-910 South to the Umpqua National Forest boundary, following the forest boundary West then North to the intersection of County Road 36, following the southern edge of County Road 36 East back to the point of origin at the intersection of Forest Service Road (FSR) 3230 and FSR 32 in T32S, R02W, Section 6. This closure applies to all National Forest Systems Roads and Trails within the described closure area. For other roads, trails, and lands please check with the appropriate jurisdiction.

Northern Closure Boundary: Starting at the confluence of Highway 138E and Rattlesnake Creek in T26S R2E Section 13, then following Rattlesnake Creek to its northernmost headwaters in T25 1/2 S R2E Section 35, then Northwest to the intersection of Forest Service Road (FSR) 4760-105 and Forest Service Trail (FST) 1535, following FST 1535 Northeast to FSR 3810-360, following FSR 3810-360 Northeast to FSR 3810, following FSR 3810 Northeast to FSR 5851, following FSR 5851 North to FST 1506, following FST 1506 North to FSR 5850, following FSR 5850 North to FSR 2213, following FSR 2213 Northwest to FSR 22, following the Southern edge of FSR 22 Northwest to the Umpqua National Forest boundary, following the forest boundary South to FSR 27 Southeast to FSR 2719, following FSR 2719 South to FSR 2719-525, following FSR 2719-525 West to the North Umpqua and Tiller Ranger Districts boundary, following the district boundary West to FSR 2792-303, following FSR 2792-303 West to FSR 2792, following FSR 2792 Southeast to FSR 2792-817, following FSR 2792-817 South to FSR 2810, following FSR 2810 Southeast to FSR 28, following FSR 28 Southwest to the point where FSR 28 becomes County Road 46, following the South side of County Road 46 Southwest to County Road 1 (Tiller Trail Highway), following County the Road 1 Southeast to FSR 1610, following FSR 1610 Southeast to the boundary of the Tiller and High Cascades Ranger Districts, following the district boundary Northeast to the 9.6 milepost of FSR 2925, following FSR 2925 North to FSR 29, following FSR 29 Northeast to FSR 2830, following FSR 2830 North to FSR 2840, following FSR 2840 East to FSR 2840-400, following FSR 2840- 400 Northeast to the terminus of that road, then continuing cross country due East to FST 1572, following FST 1572 North to FST 1571, following FST 1571 Northwest to FST 1576, following FST 1576 East to the boundary of the Rogue Umpqua Divide Wilderness, following the wilderness boundary to FSR 2715-950, following FSR 2715-950 Southeast to FSR 2715-980, following FSR 2715-980 Northeast to FSR 2715-982, following FSR 2715-982 East to the North Fork of Black Rock Creek, following Black Rock Creek South then Northeast to the confluence with Fish Creek, Following Fish Creek North to FSR 3700-373, following FSR 3700-373 Northeast to FSR 3700-370, following FSR 3700-370 Southeast to FSR 37, following FSR 37 North to Highway 138E, following Highway 138E back to the point of origin at the confluence of Highway 138E and Rattlesnake Creek in T26S R2E Section 13.

This closure applies to all National Forest Systems Roads and Trails within the described closure area.

Canton Creek Road (FSR 23) is open from the Junction with FSR 38 and CR 249 to the Forest boundary Steamboat Ball Field Group Site

Horseshoe Bend Campground and Boat Launch Eagle Rock Campground

Boulder Flat Campground Boulder Flat Boat Launch

Watson Falls Day Use Site and Trailhead Coolwater Campground

White Creek Campground Hobo Camp Campground Lund Park Campground Cedar Creek Campground

Forest Service Road 22 is open

EXEMPTIONS:

Pursuant to 36 CFR § 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this order:

1. Persons with Forest Service Permit No. FS-7700-48 (Permit for Use of Roads, Trails, or Areas Restricted by Regulation or Order), specifically exempting them from this Order.

2. Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of any organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.

This prohibition is in addition to the general prohibitions in 36 C.F.R. Part 261, Subpart A.

Violations of this prohibition are punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, or imprisonment for not more than 6 months, or both (16 U.S.C. § 551; 18 U.S.C. §§ 3551, 3559, 3571, and

3581).
