Team members will have the opportunity to download information and share plans for a smooth transition tomorrow to the Type 3 organization. This will be the final update from Team 3.

Today firefighters will continue suppression repair work on the portions of perimeter where the fire has been contained. They are restoring areas of dozer line and repairing fence. They will be patrolling the firelines looking for any hot spots that need to be mopped up and ensuring the line remains secure.

An Infrared (IR) flight shows that there are areas of heat remaining on the fire, mainly in the southern half. A helicopter is available for bucket drops today if needed.

The closures on Pole Canyon Road and the Mona Pole Road (Forest Service road #600/#160) are being rescinded today and details can be found on the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest website https://www.fs.usda.gov/uwcnf. We ask that the public use caution in the area for the safety of the firefighters and the public. The Area Closure around the fire is still in effect.

Hunters with limited entry Bull Elk tags, please check your unit, be sure to stay out of the closure area. We aim to keep the public and firefighters safe, your aim will help.

Weather: Today temperatures are predicted to be a little cooler in the mid 80s with relative humidity in the mid to low teens. Winds will be gusting near 20 mph. A Fire Weather Watch will be in effect Thursday for an expected dry cold front. Minimal fire behavior is expected in the form of smoldering and creeping.

There is a fuel and fire behavior advisory in effect for critically dry fuels through September 25, 2020.

A TFR (Temporary Flight Restriction) has been implemented over the fire area – which means recreational drones and private aircraft cannot fly over the fire. Details can be found here: https://tfr.faa.gov/save_pages/detail_0_1623.html. Remember, “IF YOU FLY, WE CAN’T.”
