 On April 20, 2022, at approximately 5:00 pm A wildfire had started in Potter County in Valley De Oro. The Texas A&M Forest Service (TAMFS) was requested and is working in Unified command with Potter County Fire Department. Crews are engaging both flanks with heavy equipment, engines and aircraft. Within Valley De Oro, the communities of Buena Vista, Plum Thicket and Horseshoe have been evacuated. Potter County Fire, TAMFS, Boys Ranch Volunteer Fire Department, and Randall County Fire are all on scene. Fire is pushing West with significant activity being observed.
