UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE FOREST SERVICE UMPQUA, Willamette, Deschutes, and Fremont-Winema National Forests Roseburg, OR ORDER NO. 06-15-03-22-463 EMERGENCY FIRE CLOSURE
Pursuant to 16 USC § 551 and 36 CFR § 261.50 (a) and (b), and to provide for public safety, the following acts are prohibited upon roads, trails, and general forest areas within the Umpqua, Willamette, Deschutes and Fremont-Winema National Forests as described below and shown in Exhibit A. This Order is effective beginning August 3, 2022, and ending October 15, 2022, unless rescinded sooner.
PROHIBITIONS: 1. Being on the closed road. [36 CFR § 261.54 (e)] 2. Going into or being upon an area closed for the protection of public health and safety. [36 CFR § 261.52 (e)] 3. Being on a trail. [36 CFR § 261.55(a)]
Closure Area is described as an area starting at T23S, R6E, Sec 7 at the junction of Forest Service Road (FSR) 5810 and the Diamond Peak Wilderness boundary at Pengra Pass on the Deschutes National Forest (NF), following the Diamond Peak Wilderness boundary Southeast to the junction of FSR 60, following FSR 60 Southeast to FSR 6020, following FSR 6020 Southeast to FSR 5825-300, following FSR 5825-300 Southeast to FSR 5834, following FSR 5834 to the junction with FSR 5825, following FSR 5825 to FSR 5830, following FSR5830 to FSR 5830-020, following 5830-020 to the western boundary of the Two Rivers Subdivision, following the NF/Two Rivers Subdivision boundary to FSR 5835, following FSR 5835 South to the Deschutes/Fremont-Winema NF boundary, following the Fremont-Winema NF boundary Southwest to Forest Service Trail (FST) 1414 North Umpqua Trail, following FST 1414 Northwest to Nancy Creek, following Nancy Creek and its drainage North to the Umpqua/Willamette NF Boundary, following the Umpqua/Willamette NF boundary to the intersection of FSR 2154, following FSR 2154 to the Deschutes/Willamette NF boundary, following the Deschutes/Willamette NF boundary North to FSR 5810-190, following FSR 5810-190 back to the point of origin at T23S, R6E, Sec 7 at the junction of FSR 5810 and the Diamond Peak Wilderness boundary at Pengra Pass.
Closed Trail • Trail 2000 Pacific Crest Trail is closed from Highway 138 on the Umpqua National Forest to Highway 58 on the Deschutes National Forest • Trail1446 Maidu Lake Trail on the Fremont-Winema NF is closed from Miller Lake to Trail 2000 Pacific Crest Trail EXEMPTIONS: Pursuant to 36 CFR § 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this order: 1. Persons with Forest Service Permit No. FS-7700-48 (permit for Use of Roads, Trails, or Areas Restricted by Regulation or Order), specifically exempting them from this order. 2. Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of any organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty. These prohibitions are in addition to the general prohibitions in 36 C.F.R. Part 261, Subpart A. Executed on August 3, 2022.
