Current Status Minimal fire activity is present, following yesterday’s storm and today’s continued rainfall on the Railroad and Daly Fires. Ground conditions remain wet, limiting active fire spread. Today, crews will continue tree removal for hazard mitigation along Skalkaho Highway (Highway 38) and maintain structure protection equipment near Gem Mountain, Stony Creek, Rock Creek Road, and north of Hwy 38.Weather and Fire Behavior
Current Status  Fire crews report minimal activity yesterday on the both the Railroad and the Daly Fires as the entire fire area received significant wetting rain accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds. Fire managers are optimistic that cooler, wetter conditions will assist in slowing fire progression.    Weather and Fire Behavior
CURRENT STATUS The Daly Fire advanced moderately northeastward along Stony Creek in Ravalli and Granite counties. Firefighters continued assessing the eastern flank in the Gem Mountain and Rock Creek areas. Resources including heavy equipment and water tenders have been positioned to protect the values at risk north and east of the fire. The Railroad Fire experienced moderate growth to the east however, with low vegetation and continuous rock scree overall fire behavior remains limited.WEATHER AND FIRE BEHAVIOR
CURRENT STATUS Fire managers, working in coordination with the Granite County Sheriff’s Office, have recommended an evacuation warning for the properties closest to the fire’s edge on the northeastern flank. This evacuation warning includes the Gem Mountain area and nearby ranches, south and east of Stony Creek, south and west of Rock Creek Road, and north of Hwy 38. The evacuation warning is necessary, given the recent fire progression and the predicted weather conditions for today.
