Spotted Bear Area Closure

The following is prohibited on the National Forest System (NFS) lands, roads, and trails on the Spotted Bear and Hungry Horse Ranger Districts, Flathead National Forest described below and shown on the attached map incorporated into this Order as Exhibit A.

1. It is prohibited to go into the area, including to be upon any road or trail in the area, closed for the protection of: Public health or safety. 

Closed Campgrounds and Trailheads:

  • Peters Creek Campground
  • Crossover Campground
  • Lower Twin Creek Trailhead
  • Upper Twin Creek Trailhead
  • South Fork River Access
  • Spotted Bear Campground
  • Spotted Bear Ranger Station
  • Chipmunk Trailhead
  • Meadow Creek Trailhead
  • Cedar Flats River Access
  • Spotted Bear Mountain Fire Lookout
  • South Creek Trailhead
  • Trail Creek Trailhead
  • Middle Big Bill Trailhead
  • Beaver Creek Trailhead
  • Beaver Creek Campground
  • Silvertip Trailhead
  • Silvertip Rental Cabin 

 

There is also a closure in place for the Stadium Fire in the Bob Marshal Wilderness area, south of Spotted Bear Ranger Station. The closed area encompasses Gorge Creek drainage within the Bob Marshall Wilderness area, including Feather, Inspiration, Gorge, Canyon Trickle, and Stadium Creeks.
