EVACUATION UPDATE: Evacuation Orders Downgraded to Warnings and Warnings Lifted for Placer County Zones
MOSQUITO FIRE – EVACUATION UPDATE
RELEASE DATE: 09/18/2022 TIME: 1:00 p.m.
Orders Downgraded to Warnings
Per the Placer County Sheriff's Office, the following zones are now under Evacuation Warnings, and repopulation of these areas may now occur:
- Zone 8
- Zone 9
- Zone 10
- Zone 11A
- Zone 7A includes Patent Road. Zone 7A remains under an evacuation order.
- Zone 7B includes Todd Valley: east of McKeon-Ponderosa, west of Jarvis Road, south of Foresthill Road, north of the canyon rim of the Middle Fork of the American River. Zone 7B has been lifted to an evacuation warning. Repopulation of Zone 7B may now occur.
Evacuation Warnings Lifted
Per the Placer County Sheriff's Office, the following zones have been lifted from Evacuation Warnings and are now open; repopulation of these areas may now occur:
- Zone 15
- Zone 12
- Zone 26
The remaining areas under Evacuation Orders will continue to have Traffic Control Points and increased security patrols by EDSO and mutual aid. We appreciate your patience during this incident.

1. Foresthill Road is closed just east of Todd Valley Road
2. Yankee Jims Road is closed at Adam Pit Road
3. Elliott Ranch Road/Giant Gap Road is closed at Iowa Hill Road
4. Finning Mill Road and Sugar Pine Road are closed at Iowa Hill Road
5. Patent Road is closed at Todd Valley Rd/Jarvis Road
6. Soda Springs Road is closed at the North Fork of the American River
7. McKinney Rubicon Springs

Safety Message
As a result of today’s repopulation effort, 3,701 residents will be able to return to 1,608 structures. As residents return home, we ask they remain aware of their surroundings as public safety personnel continue to work in the area. Areas still under an evacuation order will continue to be patrolled and monitored by deputies and other law enforcement. We will continue to keep the community updated with new information and thank everyone for their patience and understanding as we monitor the current conditions to determine when it is safest for residents to return home.
