Firefighters from the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests and Clearwater-Potlatch Timber Protection Association are fighting the Elk Creek Fire near Elk River Idaho. The fire is located on the Palouse Ranger District and burning in heavy timber. Current firefighter efforts are holding the fire at 2 acres. The fire is lined, plumbed, contained, and in the mop-up stage.
